Lively Live Auction Items
Live Auction coordinator Judy Elder has once again lined up three extraordinary events, not available anywhere else. Guest auctioneers Nathan Gonzales and Larry Burgess will put the “Lively” in the Live Auction with their unique descriptions of each item. Just before dinner, as guests have been seated, Nathan and Larry will drive the attention to the one-of-a-kind offerings.
Item 1 – Early California Alive Again
Cocktails, tour, dinner and history exposé at the historic Asistencia on Barton Road in Redlands
Friday, November 1, 2019, 5-9pm, 18 guests
Picture what is now southwest Redlands in 1830 – quiet, uninterrupted mountain views, San Gabriel Mission staff building what was to be the Asistencia, complete with rustic Spanish chapel, and a well-appointed dining room nearby. Now picture you and your 17 guests strolling the beautiful grounds with cocktails in hand. When directed, you are seated in the dining room, to savor an amazing and leisurely dinner of several courses plus fine wines, served by an attentive staff. A “majordomo” will regale you with authentic stories of the building’s construction and periodic residents and visitors. This extraordinary evening could be yours. It can happen only in Redlands.
Item 2 – Romance at the Estate
A Dinner for Lovers at the Estate of Jack and Norma Marrin – Saturday, February 15, 2020, 5-9pm for 18 guests
Love blooms in a garden. Bring your guests to the Heritage Award-winning home of Jack and Norma Marrin on a hill high above Redlands’ Prospect Park to stroll through the many elaborately designed gardens – the Roman Garden, French Garden, Rose Garden and Koi Garden – as you sip the Love Potion Number 9 cocktail. Your magical evening has just begun. Then settle inside the spectacular home for an extraordinary treat of excellent wines, food and entertainment. Wine pairing with dinner courses in the 1916 dining room will invite you to linger, and cupid, potions and chocolate decadence will definitely be in play throughout this lavish evening soiree.
Item 3 – Kentucky Bourbon in California
Bourbon Tasting, Bourbon speech-making and Southern Barbecue Bourbon Dinner at the R.J. Dunn House, home of Donn and Janet Grenda
Saturday, (Date TBD) 5 pm for 12 guests at the 1912 craftsman National Register home
Back by popular demand, the “Kentucky Bourbon in California” Party is offered by Donn and Janet Grenda at their exquisite 1912 Craftsman National Register-Listed home. They promise to entertain your senses as well as your Southern sense of style with high-end bourbon tastings, generous appetizers, a tour of their historic R.J. Dunn House, and a formal Southern barbecue dinner. The real treat may well be Donn’s stories of his love (and boatload of knowledge) of bourbon. From ambiance to alcohol, this is certainly an evening to remember. Uber . . . .
