FRESH Air Challenge
January 1, 2021 - January 31, 2021$25
Are you tired of “virtual” events like the Virtual Turkey Trot, Virtual Run through Redlands, Virtual Believe Walk?
How about a real, live, honest-to-goodness outdoor
Fresh Air Challenge??!!
Join Redlands Conservancy and the City of Redlands in our month-long partnership to encourage participants to “ramble” the streets and trails of our town. You may walk, run, bike or “ramble” any trail, path, sidewalk, or driveway.
The Fresh Air Challenge is big; we want Redlands to walk as many miles as possible (we’re shooting for a million miles in the month of January!) – on their own time frame, and on their own routes.
You may use the Redlands’ Heritage Trails, which are all over town, including the preserves in Live Oak and San Timoteo Canyons. Check out the urban pathways of the Orange Blossom Trail. You may also walk your own streets or other neighborhoods or downtown. Walk solo or with friends and family, as long as you observe current public health guidelines any time you are with others from outside your household.
It all kicks off in January, 2021. But you can get ready now!
There are three easy steps:
REGISTER to participate. We are raising funds to support Redlands Conservancy, our open space, and our trails, so there is a small fee to register. But don’t let that stop you from being a part of it. Scholarships are available for any participant upon request. See the links below to register or request a scholarship.
RAMBLE about town. Walk your dog, hike a trail, find all the clocks downtown, take a family stroll after dinner! It all counts! To get you started, links to maps of the city trails are listed below.
REPORT your miles! You’ll use your smart phone, tablet or computer to record your rambles. Redlands Conservancy will keep track of your miles, and you will be able to check your progress throughout the month. You’ll find the link below to the reporting form, and you’ll also see signs posted around town with the link to make it easy to remember to report your miles.
That’s all you have to do – but there’s something more you can do to help . . .
We are trying to raise money, after all! So we encourage everyone to ask their friends and relatives to help them out by making a contribution to Redlands Conservancy on their behalf. When you register, you will receive an ID number to record your miles. Give that ID number to your friends, and ask them to sponsor you, and you can earn a really cool, limited-edition Fresh Air Challenge tee-shirt. Just help us earn $150, and it’s yours! Follow the link below to sponsor a walker.
Lastly, track your progress on the event dashboard. We’ll have instructions and a link for that once the event begins, January 1st.
The links below will help you get started on your challenge! Be a part of it – make your miles count!
